   Great question, there are some green job sites, but this month we will be launching a comprehensive site with where to go for courses and training needed.

   Studying engineering will give you the knowledge and tools to evaluate renewable energies for practicality and cost. An interdisciplinary Mech-electrical degree would be a good place to start.

   If you don’t want to get a degree, going to a trade school to become an electrician or mechanical contractor would be another way to get education.

   THe third way is to find a company that installs renewable power systems and work your way up.

   Outside the engineering box is the legal, financial, economic aspect. The most prolific job I have found is for solar sales and solar installers. however there are also analysts that look at the market and try to sort out all of the government money that is out there and that is going to be out there in the future. To be qualified for these types of positions you might consider gaining a degree in economics, political science, and minoring in environmental policy, energy policy, climate policy. Also if you are looking for an advance degree think law school or a graduate or masters degree in economics with a focus on renewable energy policy. Ask yourself, which category do you fall in: scientist? Salesman? Attorney? Financial analyst? Installer?
